Au Revoir, Paul?
Paul Pogba’s time at Manchester United could draw to a close this summer, with reports in France claiming the midfielder now wants to leave the club after his relationship with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer broke down.
Le Parisien, a French sports daily newspaper, claims that Pogba has expressed his desire to move on, desperate to take up the opportunity of a dream move to Real Madrid.
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has launched a charm offensive in an attempt to lure Pogba to the Bernabeu, as Madrid look to rejuvenate their squad.
After United’s 1-0 loss to Barcelona on Wednesday night, the 25-year-old was asked about the possibility of ditching United for Madrid this summer. He brushed the question away, refusing to rule it out or acknowledge the possibility of a move.
“I won’t answer that. I will only speak about the game, nothing else,” Pogba said.
However, he also hinted that he would fancy playing against Barcelona more often when speaking to El Chiringuito TV:
“When we play the Champions League it’s always nice to play against Barca, it’s a dream for anyone.”
If Pogba does force his way out of United this summer, the Red Devils appear to have a replacement lined up in the form of Sporting Clube de Portugal midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
With 26 goals in 45 appearances this season, some may argue that Fernandes would be an upgrade. But you know, farmers’ league and all that.
