Manchester United have beaten AC Milan on penalties

Ah, pre-season. When teams jet off to the United States and the Far East to play meaningless friendlies in front of their global fans, but nobody at home is actually arsed what the score is.

The latest installment of Manchester United’s pre-season tour of the United States came in Los Angeles, where they took on Italian giants AC Milan last night.

United were without several of their first team , who have been given time off after the World Cup, and thus lined up with quite a defensive line up that included three central defenders and a midfield trio of Scott McTominay, Ander Herrera and Andrea Perreira.

The game finished 1-1 thanks to goals from Alexis SƔnchez and Suso and went straight to penalties, as is the custom in pre-season, to save fans at the game and viewers at home half an hour of their lives.

In the penalty shoot-out, it was neck and neck, as both teams continued to match each other from the spot. It then got to the point where people thought it would never end. Everybody just wanted to go home.

And then, Franck Kessie of AC Milan missed, gifting Manchester United the victory. Even Milan fans were probably feeling relieved that it was over and they could finally go to bed.

In fact, plenty of viewers think that Kessie missed the penalty on purpose to bring the shhot-out to an end. If true, could you really blame him?

The Ivorian midfielder was seen laughing with JosƩ Mourinho and Ander Herrera after the match. Many fans believe they were sharing a joke about his penalty miss, and concluding that he must have missed deliberately.
