But will he be good to his word?
Like him or loathe him, it’s pretty safe to say Piers Morgan is one of the most influential Arsenal fans around.
His opinions on matters related to the Gunners, legitimate or otherwise, garner thousands and thousands of retweets on a regular basis, echoing the sentiments of some Arsenal fans and infuriating plenty of others.
What most grinds Morgan’s gears is the reign of long-serving manager Arsene Wenger, who Morgan has wanted out of the job for a long, long time.
While he might not have coined the hashtag, it is he who is most responsible whenever #WengerOut is trending, which has been quite often in recent seasons.
That might not be the case for much longer, however, as Morgan has reached the end of his tether and decided to abandon his own #WengerOut campaign with immediate effect.
BREAKING NEWS: I'm abandoning my #WengerOut campaign with immediate effect.
Pointless waste of energy & he's going nowhere. 1/2— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) July 1, 2016
I won't mention Wenger's name again until or if he ever goes.
I'm done.— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) July 1, 2016
It was the confirmation of Manchester United’s signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic that finally broke Morgan and he has pledged to keep his promise.

If he doesn’t, thanks to a doubting Gary Lineker, Great Ormond Street Hospital stands to benefit to the tune of £10,000.

Will Morgan keep his pledge during Arsenal’s predictable mid-season collapse next season?
Time will tell.
