Pitch invader punches Nottingham Forest player during goal celebrations

A pitch invader threw a punch at Keinan Davis as Nottingham Forest celebrated their third goal against Leicester City in the FA Cup tie on Sunday.

Steve Cooper’s men raced into a shock 3-0 lead against Midlands rivals Leicester, thanks to first-half goals from Philip Zinckernagel, Brennan Johnson and Joe Worrall.

Kelechi Iheanacho pulled a goal back for Brendan Rodgers’ side in the second-half following a mistake from Forest shot-stopper Brice Samba.

However, the end-to-end game was marred by a distasteful incident when a pitch invader, who appeared to enter the field from the away end, ran onto the pitch and threw a punch at Davis as the Forest players celebrated a well-worked goal.

The fan was quickly apprehended by security guards and dragged towards the exit, with police later taking him away.

Following the incident, Forest did well to reimpose their dominance on the tie and made it 4-1 courtesy of Djed Spence’s tidy finish.
