Prepare yourselves for #Pogback2
Talk of Paul Pogba leaving Manchester United for a second time rarely goes away, does it?
Since returning to United from Juventus in 2016, the French World Cup winner has struggled to string together a decent run of form and, after a high-profile falling out with old boss Jose Mourinho, has been regularly linked with a move away.
More often than not, it’s been Real Madrid – where he would have the chance to play under childhood idol, Zinedine Zidane – that has been seen as his most likely next step, but a second stint at Juve has also been rumoured on a regular basis.
Now, adding fuel to that particular fire, Claudio Marchisio has very publicly pleaded with his old teammate to return to Turin – ‘to be happy again’.
Pogba is currently away with the French national side, who he helped reached the final four of the Uefa Nations League with victory in Lisbon over the weekend. After it, the 27-year-old admitted that joining up with his national team was “a breath of fresh air,” amidst the most difficult period of his career.
Like everyone else, Marchisio interpreted Pogba’s comments as a clear indication he’d be happier away from Old Trafford. Replying to a tweet, the 34-year-old urged him to move back to Italy.
‘Come to Juventus,’ he tweeted. ‘You will be happy again, me too.’

Marchisio played in the same midfield as Pogba during his four-year stint in Italy between 2012 and 2016. The former Italian international came through the youth ranks at the club, only leaving on a permanent basis towards the end of his career, when he spent a season with Zenit St. Petersburg.
