An angry landlord has demanded compensation

A Premier League star has been ordered to pay an eyewatering bill for damage caused to a rental property as reported by the Daily Mail.

Aston Villa striker John Duran has been forced to fork out a significant amount of money to settle damages he cause to a rental property he lived in during last season.

The payment concerns a property in Shenstone, an affluent village between Birmingham and Lichfield, for which the landlord has submitted a compensation claim in excess of £15,000.

The bill has since been settled with the 20-year-old paying out from his money after a club representative inspected the property.

It was reported that the general consensus was that the damage was not extreme with the cost being so elevated as a result of the location of the house and the type of property.

Two years ago, Shenstone was listed in the top 54 ‘poshest villages’ to live in by property firm Savills where the average cost of a property is around £665,000, according to Rightmove.

Villa found the property for the Colombian star after he arrived from Chicago Fire in January 2023.

The forward has been electric this season for Villa, scoring eight goals in 14 matches, with many from the bench and in crucial games such as against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
