Manchester United vs Arsenal is a classic Premier League fixture
Throughout the history of the Premier League, matches between Arsenal and Manchester United – the most successful two sides in the competition’s first decade – were tense, passionate and highly competitive affairs.
The two have played out some of the most memorably tight and outrageously one-sided matches that the league has seen between two top sides, until recently at least.
The last few years have seen the Gunners and Red Devils toil – Arsenal under Arsene Wenger and United under the club’s numerous floundering Alex Ferguson replacements – and their games have become less competitive as a result.
