The man knows how to appoint a manager
Say what you want about Mike Ashley – honestly, I really don’t mind what you say about him – but you cannot deny that the man knows how to appoint a manager.
He may not be very good at appointing the right manager, only twice throughout his time as Newcastle United owner appointing men that were genuinely liked by the club’s fans, but he knows how to give someone a job.
With Rafa Benitez out of a job, it now appears that a new manager will be taking the hot seat at St. James’ Park, potentially in the form of one Steve Bruce.
That appointment seems to be impending, so we’ve decided to send our minds back in time to remember the other managers Ashley has appointed during his time at Newcastle.
A slight caveat: Ashley has appointed some managers on interim deals, only for them to last barely a week, so this includes only those manager that have lasted more than two months at the club. Got it? Cool.
