Many of us were thinking it.
Rachel Riley came out and said it.
Tottenham are going to finish ahead of Arsenal for the first time in a long time but they don’t look like winning the Premier League.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men are still four points behind league leaders Chelsea but they only have three games left to the Blues’ four. Try as they might, Spurs went down 1-0 to a revved up West Ham at London Stadium to effectively bow out of the league race.
Tottenham have a points total, this season, that would have seen them canter to the league title last time out. That is scant consolation to their loyal fans and they will be bitterly ruing another season of getting close but not near close enough.
A late season Tottenham slip-up is a slightly more regular sight than Friday Night Football on Sky but, with Rachel Riley at the helm and the likes of Alan Pardew and Jamie Redknapp on hand, the struggling show was back.
Following the game, Riley just came straight out and let Tottenham have it:
“It’s Deja Vu for Spurs, isn’t it? Proper bottle job.”
Proper.
Bottle.
Job.

Rachel Riley should stick to putting numbers and letters on a board for a living. Terrible. #COYS
