Rachel Riley is clearly a genuine Manchester United fan.
The Sky Sports presenter, and Countdown mathematician, is presenting the club’s end of season awards on Wednesday night, and beforehand was asked for her choice for United player of the year.
Riley chose Ander Herrera, which will go down extremely well with United fans.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Antonio Valencia are the other United players nominated for the award.
And while both have had excellent seasons for Jose Mourinho’s side, Herrera has established himself as a firm fan favourite and an essential player for the team.
Mourinho moans about a lot of his players, but you’ll never hear him say a bad word about the Spanish midfielder.

Herrera is arguably United’s most dependable player, and rightly earned the vote of Rachel.
Riley acknowledged the impact of Valencia and Zlatan, but said she admires Herrera’s grit and willingness to get stuck in.
“I think you need a player who gets the odd yellow card, the odd red card. He wants it.”
