Raheem Sterling would have been relishing the chance to prove that he had made the right decision in leaving Anfield in the summer.

But then the first half happened.

Jurgen Klopp’s side got started early against Manchester City and Sterling found his new team trailing 3-0 to the side who he unceremoniously departed for almost €70 million.

While Sergio Aguero pulled one back for City before the break, that didn’t stop salt-rubbing Reds fans from tearing shreds out of their former winger on Twitter.
