A year ago, we doubt anyone was looking out for Marcus Rashford’s FIFA rating who wasn’t a blood relative of the teenager.
But 12 months, several goals and a full international call-up later, the Manchester United striker’s year-on-year jump was big news to supporters of the Premier League club.
Rashford was rated at 59 before his debut last season, though the youngster’s Europa League exploits saw the overall rating raised mid-season.
And before EA Sports revealed his new rating they got team-mate Anthony Martial to have a guess, as well as inviting Rashford to predict how Martial’s stats would look.
We’re sure you’re just as interested in Rashford’s real ratings on the new game, which is just two weeks from release.
Well he’s already made a jump to 76, with his new pace score of 90 marking a huge climb from the 67 he was initially handed on FIFA 16.
That leaves him behind the likes of Jesse Lingard (77 overall), Marouane Fellaini (78) and Ashley Young (79), though only Martial beats him for pace with 91.
Still, we can expect Rashford to have a higher ceiling than a lot of other young players on the game – after all, he doesn’t turn 19 until Hallowe’en.
And for those of you wondering how he compares to Manchester City’s talented youngster Kelechi Iheanacho, the Nigerian is rated at 74…but both he and Rashford have a potential of 88 on career mode.
