David De Gea didn’t need another reason to commit to a Real Madrid move, but now it seems he has the ultimate incentive.
If the Spanish giants avoid a transfer fee for the Manchester United goalkeeper by signing him when his contract expires next summer, De Gea could be in line for a massive £12m signing-on fee.
The Mirror report that Madrid will be happy to offer the 24-year-old big money to join, as it would represent significantly less than the £35m United want for a man who manager Louis van Gaal called his “best player”.
De Gea has not been in the matchday squad for either of United’s first two Premier League games of the season, following suggestions that he refused to play for the club, and it seems a question of when he departs rather than if.
