Reports have claimed Real Madrid’s twitter and website was hacked
Real Madrid have confirmed they are investigating after the club’s Twitter account mysteriously tweeted a false medical report which claimed Rodrygo had suffered an injury.
A tweet from the club’s official account shared a link to a story on the club’s official website on Tuesday which detailed a thigh injury the Brazilian had picked up in December of last year. The story was dated to this week, suggesting it was a fresh injury scare.
The timing of the tweet, which was swiftly deleted, sparked plenty of confusion across the club’s fanbase and in the media, to the extent that Real moved to clarify that Rodrygo was indeed fully fit and available for the Champions League clash with Atalanta.
The Spanish champions also confirmed that an investigation was taking place to determine how the tweet had come to be sent.
Marca went as far as reporting that Real’s website and Twitter account had been hacked, and detailed how Rodrygo had been unaware of the incident until he was alerted by his father.
The 20-year-old returned from a two-month lay-off with a thigh injury only recently, and appeared from the bench in Real’s win over Elche in the league at the weekend – setting up Karim Benzema’s late goal.

Real host Atalanta having beaten the Italian side by a late Ferland Mendy goal in the first leg.
While Rodrygo appears fit for selection, Zinedine Zidane has suffered another setback with Eden Hazard, who will reportedly have to undergo surgery after suffering his eighth injury since arriving in Spain from Chelsea.
