Memphis Depay hasn’t enjoyed the best of starts to life in the Premier League.
The Dutch international has failed to replicate his promising Champions League form on the domestic stage for Manchester United, leading to less-than-encouraging words from inside and outside the club.
But the 21-year-old could be offered an opportunity to get out of dodge, if reports from Spain are to be believed.
Don Balon claim Real Madrid – who were thought to be looking at Memphis when he was still at PSV – could be prepared to take the winger off United’s hands.
The Spanish giants are after a long-term replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, and will apparently offer €65m (£46m) for Memphis, more than double what United paid.
If there is any truth to Madrid’s valuation of the player, one would imagine the Premier League club would seriously consider a bid.
