Some of you may have heard of Aaron Chalmers due to the Englishman’s undefeated streak inside the MMA world
However, most people know him as a former cast member of popular UK reality show, Geordie Shore.
The Newcastle man, who fights at welterweight has come in for some backlash from MMA fans who claimed he got an undeserved push due to his already public persona, in the same way that the UFC gave WWE star CM Punk two fights inside the Octagon because of the eyes he brings to the sport.
CM Punk lost convincingly on both occasions inside the Octagon. First, he was choked out by rising star Mickey Gall in a fight that should never have been made in hindsight. He made his return almost two years later against journalist Mike Jackson, who outstruck CM Punk en route to a unanimous decision win.
Despite the fact that his fame does bring more eyes to the sport, Chalmers cannot be compared to CM Punk simply because he has gone undefeated in his first four professional bouts.
He made his debut in May 2017 at BAMMA 29 and defeated Guy Jenkins via first round submission. He followed his impressive debut up with two KO victories against Alex Thompson and Karl Donaldson.
His impressive run caught the eyes of Scott Coker and Bellator who offered Chalmers a chance to fight on their marquee Bellator 200 card, which took place in London.
Chalmers gladly accepted the fight and won via first-round submission.
After four wins and four first-round finishes, Chalmers has now been officially signed by Bellator who have given him a six-fight deal.
If he can keep up his impressive winning streak inside the world famous organisation, it won’t be long before he’s rubbing shoulders with the top guys in Bellator’s notoriously tough 170lb division.
Chalmers confirmed the news via his twitter account yesterday.
