What does someone like Jose Mourinho do when they’re not an actively employed football manager?
We can’t imagine the Portuguese is a golfer, and if it were us, we would not be too interested in watching football when you’ve been turfed out of your old club.
Well according to reports, Mourinho’s time watching ‘Cash in the Attic’ may be coming to an end.
Reports in both Spain and Italy are suggesting that Mourinho has signed a deal to become the successor to Louis van Gaal at Manchester United, who may be sacked by the club in the summer.
El Confidencial is reporting that Mourinho has met with representatives from Old Trafford, and has agreed to take over at the club.
The news follows reports on Wednesday night that Mourinho and Pep Guardiola could be set to renew their rivalry in next season’s Manchester Derby
@SkySport Mourinho-Manchester United: accordo vicinissimo. Che derby con il City di Guardiola!
— Alessandro Alciato (@AAlciato) February 3, 2016
Guardiola was announced as the next Manchester City manager earlier this week and with his role confirmed at the Etihad, it has piled pressure on Ed Woodward to either back Louis van Gaal to continue until 2017 and the end of his contract, or, as expected, pull the plug on the Dutchman this summer.
Mourinho has coveted the job since his time at Real Madrid, and despite his failings at Chelsea that saw him sacked back in December, there is a sense that the former Inter Milan boss would relish the chance to coach at Old Trafford.
The reaction so far has been mixed.
So reports suggesting Mourinho will be at United next season, the club doctor will be feeling very insecure looooooool
