European superclub rules out appointing Jose Mourinho

Sorry Jose

That rules out one exit strategy.

If Jose Mourinho were to leave Chelsea there’s not many clubs he could join. The Portuguese manager has burnt bridges at Real Madrid, isn’t a popular man with Barcelona fans and wasn’t enamoured with Italian football while at Inter Milan.

He was also reportedly overlooked to succeed Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, is unlikely to return to Porto and is arguably not ready for the semi-retirement gig that is international management. Meanwhile, we can’t imagine Bayern Munich would want Mourinho to replace his mortal enemy Pep Guardiola.

Paris-Saint Germain, however, seemed an ideal fit for Mourinho – a wealthy club, with ambitions of winning the Champions League, and a squad of star players seemed a neat fit for Jose’s skill-set.

However, according to Jason Burt, the chief football correspondent for The Daily Telegraph, the French club don’t want him.GettyImages-494069240

Burt claims that high ranking sources at PSG told him they’ve no intention of moving for Mourinho to replace Laurent Blanc should he leave Chelsea.
