Spanish football expert Graham Hunter told the channel that a bid from United prompted Madrid to tell the player of the club’s interest.
Ramos, when informed of the €40 million bid, reportedly said he wants to move to Old Trafford, and wants the deal sorted soon.

The player has been linked with a move to United for some time now, possibly as part of the deal that takes goalkeeper David de Gea to Real Madrid, but this is the first sign the player has committed to a transfer to Old Trafford.
The 29-year-old centre-half signed for Madrid in 2005, and was considered among the most influential figures among the playing staff, but now looks to be on his way out.
It seems issues over salary, and a falling out with club president Florentino Perez, is the source of Ramos’ unhappiness at the club, and United are hoping to capitalise.
