The deal is expected to be signed this week.
ESPN have reported that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be staying at Manchester United and that his new contract will be signed later this week. At present, the Swedish striker is a free agent after the club decided not to renew his contract following the knee ligament injury that he sustained against Anderlecht in the Europa League.
The former PSG, Inter Milan and Barcelona striker is still undergoing his recovery work at United’s AON Training Centre and it’s believed that his rehab is going quicker than expected.

In his debut season at Old Trafford, Ibrahimovic hit 28 goals in all competitions – 17 of them coming in 27 Premier League starts.
As reported by Andy Mitten of ESPN, Mourinho has a very good working relationship with the 35-year-old and was impressed by the Swede’s influence in the dressing room since his arrival.
In recent weeks, the Manchester United manager has been optimistic when talking about the possibility of Ibrahimovic extending his time at Old Trafford.
“You know he’s injured, he needs time to recover, he’s not ready to play tomorrow It’s not something urgent, that we are desperate to have it done or not done, I just think that he was very clear by showing what he did last year was not enough for him. He thinks he can do more and wants more at the highest level so we are having conversations and we are discussing the possibility of him to stay with us for the second part of the season,” he said.
The same report has also stated that Ibrahimovic’s wages will be significantly lower than they were  last year.
Mourinho’s men haven’t struggled for goals so far this season but plenty of United fans would be absolutely delighted to see the Swede back in the red jersey.
