No escape for Jose Mourinho.
Can’t a man hold an impromptu conference with his coaching staff in the middle of a football pitch without having his words interpreted by a lip reader?
It seems not.
Mourinho and his coaching staff held a meeting in the middle of the pitch at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, following Chelsea’s 3-1 loss to Liverpool.
It is believed the meeting was held in the centre of the pitch so that they would not be overheard. While we could not hear what was being said, the meeting was captured on video and subsequently interpreted by lip-readers.According to The Mirror, Mourinho said: “It’s not … and we need to get it, the next one its really … make sure … must not lose that one next week.”
The discussion then focused on Liverpool player Lucas, who escaped a second booking in the match.
“You know, it’s not good and it’s the sixth (defeat) but the problem was the … he [the referee Mark Clattenburg] didn’t give … the yellow when he … and I don’t know what will happen.”
Mourinho then stressed the importance of unity at such a tough time, before the video cut off.
“But you must all be together and … but I cannot say to them that it’s not, just erm, not right.”
