One record breaker on another
Rio Ferdinand became the most expensive defender in English football when he joined Manchester United from Leeds United in 2002, and went on to enjoy a stellar career at the Red Devils.
One man who will be looking to emulate this level of success is Harry Maguire, the most expensive player in the world after his £80 million move from Leicester City to Old Trafford.
In an interview with JOE, Ferdinand opened up on the pressure he faced when making the move, and how that differs from the pressure that Maguire will currently be experiencing.
He also offered advice to United’s new number five.
"I think the biggest issue for Harry Maguire is gonna be the comparisons with Virgil van Dijk."
From one record-breaking Man United defender to another, @rioferdy5 tells JOE about the challenges that lie in wait for Harry Maguire.
