Robbie Brady was linked with a big-money transfer to Premier League clubs last summer.
Leicester City, West Ham United and Sunderland were all reportedly interested in signing Brady from newly-relegated Norwich City.
Yet, despite his heroics at Euro 2016, the Irish international failed to secure a move.
However, the situation appears to have changed. Firstly, Norwich are in the market for a striker and need to sell players before they can buy. Brady is their most valuable asset.
His hopes to returning to the Premier League were also handed a boost when Sam Allardyce appeared to confirm his interest.
The new Crystal Palace manager is in the market for a versatile player, who is comfortable at left-back.
“Somebody like Robbie Brady, I would say yes,” Allardyce said.
“Anybody like that, if the club says they are available.”
However, Palace will reportedly have competition for Brady from a team who turned down the opportunity to sign him last summer – Leicester City.
The Premier League champions will “step-up” their interest in him as soon as they offload winger Bartosz Kapustka, according to The Mirror.
The 20-year-old Polish international joined the club from Polish club KS Cracovia last summer for £7.5m. However, he has failed to make a single appearance this season.
Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri is willing to allow the player to return to the continent, either on-loan or on a permanent deal.
Norwich will reportedly accept a bid of between £10m and £13m for Brady, who’s contract expires next summer.
The 24-year-old joined Norwich from Hull in the summer of 2015 for £7m. If he was to sign for Leicester, he would be eligible for the Champions League.
The Foxes resume their European campaign next month with their last-16 tie against Sevilla.
