Stephan El Shaarawy scored one of the best goals you’ll see in the Champions League this season on Tuesday night.
The Roma striker gave the home the lead against Chelsea in the Stadio Olimpico with a brilliant strike from the edge of the penalty area after just 38 seconds – the fastest goal in the competition so far this season.
Former Manchester City pair Aleksandar Kolarov and Edin Dzeko linked up in the build-up to the goal. Kolarov played a ball over the top to the striker, Dzeko managed to connect with it and the ball landed in the path of El Shaarawy at the edge of Chelsea’s penalty area.
The Roma striker hit an unstoppable shot with the outside of his boot, which flew past Thibaut Courtois and into the Chelsea net. Although not quite as good as Dzeko’s goal against Chelsea in the fixture between the pair at Stamford Bridge, it was still a pretty special strike from the El Shaarawy.
