The point Manchester United earned at Anfield on Saturday afternoon may prove to be a valuable one come the end of the season.
For the second season on the trot, the fixture finished 0-0 – a result which means United are unbeaten in the league away at Liverpool in their last four visits.
In truth though, there wasn’t an awful lot for United supporters to get excited about. Jürgen Klopp’s side had the best of the game with United rarely offering anything in the way of a threat.
This was also the second United appearance in which Romelu Lukaku had failed to score in. The Belgian saw his only shot of the game saved by Simon Mignolet shortly before half-time and was largely anonymous after the break.
In fairness to Lukaku, he wasn’t the only United player that endured a difficult game at Anfield and suffered badly from a lack of service from his teammates.
Incredibly, his contribution (or lack of it), was summed up by his heatmap and touchmap for the game.
Both goalkeepers managed more than Lukaku’s 17 touches in the game, with as many of them coming in his own area as did in his Liverpool box.
What did you make of Romelu Lukaku's performance today?
