Fair play, Rory.
The world’s No2 golfer Rory McIlroy has been enjoying some other sports over the last few days.
Or, we should say, he’s been enjoying watching some other sports (no word yet whether his 5-a-side career has resumed following his ankle injury on the astro turf earlier this year.
McIlroy was in Belfast on Thursday night for Northern Ireland’s historic victory over Greece which confirmed that they will be joining the party at Euro 2016 in France next summer.
And on Sunday McIlroy travelled to Cardiff to cheer on the boys in green in the rugby, as they beat France 24-9 to secure a quarter final against Argentina in Cardiff next Sunday.
McIlroy tweeted a picture at the final whistle, congratulating the team for a heroic performance as well as praising the atmosphere in the Millennium Stadium.
This wasn’t quite enough for some people and McIlroy received abuse for daring to support the Northern Ireland football team and the Irish rugby team.
Thankfully McIlroy was more the capable of fending off the abuse. Nice emoji use.
@McIlroyRory you were at the Northern Ireland game the other day. Make your mind up ya prick
