“They’re the ones that are accidentally meant.”
Juventus knocked Tottenham Hotspur out of the Champions League on Wednesday night in a dramatic second-leg at Wembley. Spurs held the advantage coming into the tie thanks to their 2-2 draw away in Turin, and went into half-time last night leading one-nil after Heung-min Son’s goal.
But the Italian champions took control of the game with two goals in three minutes in the second-half. Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala each landed a sucker-punch on Tottenham, and Mauricio Pochettino’s side couldn’t find a way to take the tie to extra-time.

Juventus are now through to the quarter-finals and Spurs are left wondering how they let their lead slip. The game was the most competitive of the Champions League knockout stages so far this season, and despite being fiercely competitive, it was largely played in a good spirit with both sides clearly respectful of the each other.
There was a tangle in the first-half that could have led to Andrea Barzagli receiving at least a yellow card. The Juventus defender stamped twice on Son and the pair appeared to kick out at each other. Son seemed to be in pain but managed to brush it off and score the opening goal of the night a few minutes later. Neither player was booked.

On ITV’s highlights of the Champions League later in the night, Roy Keane’s reaction to the incident, and Barzagli’s stamp, was amusing. The former Manchester United captain was no stranger to such on-pitch altercations during his playing career
“You always get away with them ones, they are the ones that are accidentally meant,” Keane said with a wry smile. “I don’t mind them ones.”
