It’s pretty safe to assume that Roy Keane didn’t shave his legs as a player.
The subject of footballers ridding themselves of the hair on their legs hit the headlines this week when Marco Asensio was ruled out of Real Madrid’s opening Champions League group game with APOEL Nicosia with a bizarre injury.
The Spaniard had apparently picked up an infection while shaving his legs and manager Zinedine Zidane confirmed that he would be unavailable for the game at the Bernabeu.

In defending Asensio, Phil Neville came out and revealed that he too used to rid himself of his leg-hair prior to games.
“When I go for a massage and I have hairy legs I come out in rashes and I get infections in my legs and I can’t pull my socks up then and I can’t play football,” Neville said on BBC 5 Live.

But Neville’s former Manchester United teammate Roy Keane clearly didn’t partake in the hair removal judging by his reaction to fellow pundit Lee Dixon’s comments on Wednesday night.
Keane and Dixon were on punditry duty for ITV when the latter spoke about how players shaving their legs was by no means a modern phenomenon.
Just look at Keane’s reaction to the fact that the topic was even being discussed on live television.

Sighs of exasperation don’t come much deeper than that.
