Ryan Giggs will reportedly end his 26-year association with Manchester United – if Jose Mourinho is appointed as their new manager.
According to So Foot, Giggs wants the managerial job when Louis van Gaal departs the club and is growing impatient at the thought of being overlooked.
Before anyone goes reaching for the Kleenex, it’s worth noting that this news comes from France – so we’re not quite sure how they’re jumping ahead of those that are closer to Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho is said to be negotiating the final parts of a deal to make him the United manager from the start of next season and while plenty of United supporters will take such news with a pinch of salt, if Giggs is on the brink of departing the club he joined back in 1990, it certainly will be the end of an era.
