The streak is over
Just as Manchester United fans were starting to convince themselves that their side would never lose a single for the rest of time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, along came Paris Saint-Germain to ruin things.
Despite being deprived of some of their biggest stars – Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting – PSG still turned out to be pretty good, claiming a 2-0 victory thanks to second-half goals from Presnel Kimpembe and Kylian Mbappe.
Though it was all a bit disappointing for United’s supporters, at least other people – pretty much anyone who isn’t a United supporter – seemed to enjoy the result. It was even enough to coax Mario Balotelli back on to Twitter (before he thought better of it and deleted his tweets)…
Seemingly, Liverpool’s Sadio Mane was amongst those to take delight in United coming up short. The Senegalese winger’s Instagram activity on Tuesday night saw some suggest he was poking fun at his side’s great rivals.
On his Instagram Story, Mane shared an image of a television, showing the the score during the game’s closing stages. He accompanied this with the word ‘Hummm,’ enough for him to cement his status as a ‘legend’ with the person sending the tweet below.

Soon after, Mane stuck up another image to his Instagram Story. This time it showed him laughing during a training session along with a laughing face emoji.
In isolation, this might have seemed innocent enough, but given its timing, many interpreted it as being as thinly veiled dig at United.
Liverpool return to their own Champions League campaign next week when they welcome Bayern Munich to Anfield for their last 16 first leg. After that, they travel to Old Trafford to face United in what could be a significant day in deciding the destination of the Premier League title.
