Sampdoria were at home to Inter Milan on Sunday in a game that’s tough at the best of times.
As such it’s vital that you take any half-chance that comes your way. As for decent opportunities, they’ve got to be a formality. What you certainly don’t want to do is miss a sitter with the empty goal gaping.
Step forward Joaquin Correa, who found himself with a gilt-edged chance to open the scoring in the 38th minute.
The Argentine had a close-range effort saved by Samir Handanovic, only to find the ball fall to his feet with the keeper stranded behind him.
Somehow, only four yards from the goal line, he proceeded to roll it across the six-yard box and out of play.
Oh dear. Oh dear oh dear oh dear…
