Santi Cazorla has played alongside some huge players in his career, there’s no doubt about that.
The Arsenal midfielder has won two European Championships with Spain, so you’d expect his Ultimate XI to be bristling with talent from goalkeepers to goal-getters.
You’d be right, of course. From legendary ‘keeper Iker Cassillas between the sticks and Sergio Ramos adding steel to his defence, to a midfield including World Cup-winning German Mesut Ozil and Spanish maestro Andres Iniesta, it’s world-class from top to bottom.
So far, so good…but then we get to the forwards. You might expect Cazorla to stick a top striker or two in his Ultimate XI like David Villa or Diego Costa – someone to get the goals.
But it seems the Spaniard is Arsenal through and through – his team, like the current Gunners squad, is all creative midfielders and no strikers.
Cazorla too has gone for flair rather than firepower up top in David Silva and Alexis Sanchez.
Four games in, Arsenal have had the most shots of any Premier League club with 71Â – but two of their three goals have been own goals.
Luckily Cazorla’s fantasy side doesn’t have a transfer deadline in three days time.
