All four of the Dutchman’s summer signings made an appearance, with one getting off to a flyer.
It took just five minutes for Morgan Schneiderlin to score for his new club, a looping header from a Juan Mata cross.

Memphis Depay, a player Van Gaal has spent time nurturing for the Dutch national team, got 45 minutes under his belt along with Italian new boy Matteo Darmain.

German Bastian Schweinsteiger added experience to the youthful second half United side, which included Jesse Lingard, Adnan Januzaj, Andreas Pereira and James Wilson.
With 11 changes at half time it’s impossible to see how the new players will line up alongside the likes of Rooney, Young and Di Maria. It will be interesting to see who the manager leaves out of his starting XI on August 8…
Thanks #Seattle! Congrats to @BSchweinsteiger @Memphis @DarmianOfficial and @SchneiderlinMo4 on their debut! @ManUtd pic.twitter.com/3b8W2Vqtm8
