It can be easy to forget that your parents were once your age too. Similarly, we don’t always remember that Premier League managers used to be players themselves.
Sure – the playing days of Tim Sherwood and Roberto Martinez are still fresh in our memories but it’s somewhat harder to picture Arsene Wenger getting stuck into a tackle.

These pictures raise so many questions. Why does the photo of Brendan Rodgers – a man who was born in 1973 – look like it was taken in the 1930s? When did Ronald Koeman stop cutting his own hair? And where can we get a replica of the shirt Pellegrini is wearing?
