A class act on and off the field
Sergio Ramos has wished Luke Shaw a speedy recovery after the England player suffered a blow to the head during last night’s match against Spain at Wembley.
The Manchester United left-back was left unconscious after colliding with Dani Carvajal early in the second half. Physios and paramedics attended to the player for more than five minutes before he was carried off the field on a stretcher.
Shaw tweeted after the match, thanking fans for the supportive messages he had received, and assured everyone that he is ‘doing fine’ and ‘in the best hands’. He concluded his tweet by saying “I’m a fighter so I will be back soon”.

Spain captain Sergio Ramos sent a message of support to the injured Shaw, saying “Get well soon” on Twitter after the match.

Ramos had received boos from the Wembley crowd every time he touched the ball, and spoke about the reception he got after the game, claiming it doesn’t affect his game. However he did go on to reveal that his family had received death threats after the Champions League final, when he injured Liverpool’s Mo Salah, presumable the reason he was booed.
Last night was Luke Shaw’s first England appearance since March 2017, and marked the occasion with an assist for Marcus Rashford’s opening goal.
