Reports in Spain are claiming six people believed to be Liverpool fans have been arrested after workers at hotels in the city’s Plaça Reial suffered injuries amid violence that occurred on Tuesday.
Liverpool fans arrived in big numbers in the Spanish city on Tuesday night ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final at the Camp Nou before videos emerged on social media appearing to show some fans pushing locals into fountains.

The large majority of fans were peacefully enjoying their away trip to one of football’s most prestigious venues, but a small minority appeared to indulge in violence.
Tensions were high in the city centre as Liverpool fans found themselves in a face off with the police, who marched them up the famous La Rambla street and dispersed them into smaller groups.
Spanish sports newspaper Mundo Deportivo have reported that six arrests were made after four people sustained injuries during periods of violence.

“Such behaviour is clearly totally unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
“It would be inappropriate to comment further while the situation is ongoing other than to confirm the club will follow due process in any and all cases of this nature.”
The club’s CEO Peter Moore tweeted on Tuesday night, calling on Liverpool fans to treat the city of Barcelona with the respect it deserves.
