Rudy Gestede may not be brimming with Premier League class but he’s got plenty of heart and a whole lot of fight.
The French striker has scored six goals in 34 games [17 starts] this season. Not a great return but a heap better than many of his Aston Villa teammates.
On Saturday last, Gestede’s Villa had relegation from the Premier League confirmed.
That night, strike partner Gabby Agbonlahor was said to have headed out in London on the razz.
Gestede reacted to the chastening relegation by giving back to those less fortunate than him. Last night, Gestede dropped along to a community outreach and pitched right in.
@ConanDoherty @SportsJOEdotie Rudy deserves great credit for this given what his AVFC pals have been up to… pic.twitter.com/3vbatDmNO5

If Villa can hang onto characters like Gestede, who has previously prospered in the Championship, and cut some primadonas loose, they may yet bounce back to the Premier League.
