Mauricio Pochettino has spoken to Luke Shaw after the Manchester United defender suffered a double fracture to his leg.
The Tottenham manager, who worked with Shaw during his time at Southampton, revealed that he phoned the England international on Wednesday morning.
“I spoke with him this morning,” the Argentine said. “He is much better today but it is always difficult with this type of injury. I only give my support and wish him a speedy recovery, but now he must only think about the recovery.”
Pochettino admitted that Shaw was understandably very upset about his injury.
“Always it is difficult, he was crying. It’s normal, you can understand after the big injury that was yesterday – not only because of the pain but everything around it.”
Exactly how long Luke Shaw faces out of the game is still unknown, with reports suggesting that he faces at least six months on the sidelines.
