Jan Verthongen probably would have found himself in hot water if he had avoided his media obligations on Sunday.
After Spurs’ dramatic 3-2 victory over Everton at White Hart Lane, defender Jan Verthongen was tasked with speaking to his club’s official fan channel.
But Verthongen is a busy man, we assume.
He didn’t have time to dilly-dally and talk about the intricacies of the 90 minutes or attempt to defend his questionable positioning for Romelu Lukaku’s goal with ten minutes remaining.
Spurs TV’s resident interviewer was clearly warned of the rush that the Belgian defender was in and he politely acquiesced to a shorter post-match interview than usual.

But, to be fair, he probably didn’t expect it to be this short.
Interviewer: “What did you think of the game today?”
Verthongen: “Yeah, very good!”
And that was that!
We think we can get on board with these speed interviews but he has some way to go to meet the succinct standards set by Jose Mourinho.
