After their first match of the calendar year in Dortmund in midweek, England return to competitive action against Lithuania on Sunday.
Despite the 1-0 defeat, many were impressed by the English performance in the game against Germany at Westfalenstadion, a game Gareth Southgate had used as an opportunity to try out a new system.
Ahead of the World Cup Qualifier, it seems the England boss has switched back to four at the back, with Michael Keane and John Stones playing centrally and Ryan Bertrand and Kyle Walker the full backs.
Jermain Defoe, who didn’t feature in Germany after returning to the England squad for the first time in four years, has been handed a start by Southgate in a line up that appears to be the same as the one that was leaked to the press on Sunday morning.
