It’s been a busy summer for Steven Gerrard
Rangers are on the verge of completing their 13th signing of the summer, as they close in on signing Albanian winger Eros Grezda from NK Osijek, according to The Mail.
The 23-year-old will reportedly cost a fee of around £2m and would become Rangers’ second signing from NK Osijek of the summer after they signed Borna Barisic earlier in the window.
Grezda was in Glasgow on Monday morning for talks with the club as Gerrard looks to bring in a replacement for the injured Jamie Murphy, who tore his anterior cruciate ligament in the first game of the season.
The deal to sign Grezda is subject to him passing a medical and obtaining a work permit.
Rangers have already signed Connor Goldson, Allan McGregor, Kyle Lafferty, Scott Arfield and Jon Flanagan this summer to name a few, and the addition of Grezda will be a huge boost in the pursuit of the league title.
Gerrard’s side currently sit fourth after three matches in the Scottish Premiership, with five points. They dropped two points against Motherwell at the weekend after conceding a last minute goal from a set-piece, which Gerrard identified as their main weakness.
