As Anthony Martial and David de Gea hogged the headlines for Manchester United on transfer deadline day, it appears the club fell short in their bid to land another striker.
Alexandre Pato, the former AC Milan forward, has reportedly claimed that he had an offer to move to Old Trafford.
Seemingly arriving two hours before the transfer window closed, the offer came too late for the Brazilian to make a move to Manchester.
With some criticism of Louis van Gaal’s refusal to bring in another striker, Pato could have been the ideal player to add a bit of depth to the club’s striking options.
