‘It’s very Spursy – that’s how I see it at the moment’
Teddy Sheringham has described Tottenham Hotspur’s inconsistent form as being ‘Spursy’ following a number of disappointing performances.
Spurs have won just three of their last eight matches in all competitions, exiting the FA Cup at the hands of Middlesborough last Tuesday (March 1).
The north London outfit’s inconsistent form has increased speculation that manager Antonio Conte could walk away from the club, with the Italian hinting as much following the 1-0 defeat at Burnley last month.
However, Conte’s men still have a realistic chance of securing a top four finish at the end of the campaign, and former Spurs striker Sheringham believes his ex-club need to improve their consistency.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, Sheringham was asked about Spurs’ form in recent weeks, which he described as being ‘Spursy’.
“It’s very up and down, isn’t it? It’s very ‘Spursy’, that’s how I see it at the moment,” replied Sheringham.
“I think were going to go a lot on body language tonight and I think when you’re being led as a football club, Antonio Conte’s body language goes from one extreme to another.
“He’s hyper, up and down the touchline and then he does to Middlesbrough, he’s looking like ‘what am I doing here?’, it will be interesting to see what sort of body language he shows tonight.”
The 55-year-old was then asked if Spurs had improved since Conte was appointed as manager in November 2021.
He said: “I thought for the first couple of months, without a doubt, he came in and gave them a real spark.
“But then just recently its changed, I don’t know if he’s had problems upstairs, he looks like he’s got the ‘ump’ a bit.
Spurs face-off against Frank Lampard’s Everton tonight (March 7), hoping to reduce the gap to fourth-placed Arsenal to three points.
