If you, like us, think that there’s not enough of a crossover between pop music and football then you’re in luck.
Louis Tomlinson, One Direction singing man, is set to blur that line one more time as he’s in the running to play Jamie Vardy in a Hollywood film based on the Leicester striker’s life.
Vardy’s incredible success this season has caught the eye of Tinseltown, with much interest on documenting the career trajectory of the forward from Stocksbridge Park Steels to England international in just five years.
Screenwriter Adrian Butchart, who is responsible for the Goal film franchise, has admitted Tomlinson is in his sights as a potential leading man.
The 24-year-old is a massive football fan and was actually signed on a non-contract basis by Doncaster.

“We are looking at a few actors,” Butchart told The Daily Mail. “Zac Efron and Robert Pattinson are two favorites, however One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson is also very much on our radar, he’s apparently a great footballer, he can act and he’s from South Yorkshire so the accent won’t be a problem for him.
“In fact we hear he’s a Jamie Vardy fan, he even tweeted Jamie when he broke the goal scoring record in November.”
Massive well done to @vardy7 for breaking the record ! Great to see an English lad doing so well !

It’s understood Butchart is set to visit England in the next few weeks to meet former Foxes manager Nigel Pearson, who signed the striker for a mere £1 million in 2012, as well as England boss Roy Hodgson, who handed Vardy his first international call-up last May.
