Manchester United are on the verge of signing Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi, according to Valencia-based TV station SillasGol.
They report as fact that the hirsute Argentinian is off to Old Trafford, and that official confirmation of the deal will follow in good time.
Nacho Cotino, a journalist who works for the station, even goes as far as to state that they have seen legal and tax documentation that confirms the transfer.

The 27-year-old Otamendi is widely regarded as one of the best defenders in La Liga. He has a no-nonsense style and is famed for his abilities in one-on-one situations – even against the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The transfer fee is expected to be north of €30m for a player entering the peak years of his career.
