Many Liverpool fans have been in dreamland ever since Jurgen Klopp was confirmed as the club’s new manager.
But some will have refused to believe it until they saw the man himself, decked out in Liverpool attire, conducting his first piece of official club business.
Klopp expressed his excitement at the challenge of returning Liverpool to their past glories, saying: “This is a talented group of players and there is still much to compete for this season.”
“Winning is important but so is how you win and how you play the game, Klopp added, noting that “It is important to have a playing philosophy that reflects your own mentality, reflects the club and gives you a clear direction to follow.”
Philosophy, eh? Where have we heard that one before?
He also had some words for the club’s passionate fans, saying: “Liverpool has extraordinary supporters and Anfield is a world renowned home, with an incredible atmosphere.
“I want to build a great relationship with these supporters and give them memories to cherish. I hope we can feed off each other’s energy and that we take this journey together,” added the former Dortmund boss.
Plenty of reason for Liverpool fans to be excited.
