Man United took their chance to go top of the Premier League for the first time in two years (after a full round of matches) following Man City’s 4-1 thrashing at Tottenham.
Louis van Gaal’s side were briefly top of the league after beating Aston Villa in their second game of the season, but they were replaced in pole position the following day. This achievement will be much more satisfying.
United fans were understandably buzzing on Twitter, with the best of the reaction below…
Louis van Gaal: "We scored again beautiful goals so I'm a very happy coach. A very good result, top of the league." pic.twitter.com/YN3LkfQEus

There was plenty of love for Anthony Martial…
Anthony Martial emerges as the best player in the world and Messi is suddenly 'injured'? That's convenient.

9 goals in 3 games. That's the Manchester United we know and love. We've scored those without even creating that many chances too!
