Goosebumps.
If the Republic of Ireland are going to secure a spot in the World Cup playoffs, they’re going to have to do it the hard way as they take on Wales at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Going into the game, Chris Coleman’s side held the advantage as a point would be good enough for them to secure a place in the playoffs but given Serbia’s recent defeat to Austria, the top spot in the group is still up for grabs – provided results go in Wales’ favour.
As for Martin O’Neill’s men, nothing short of a win will ensure that their bid to reach Russia continues, but if the Irish are to get the three points that they desperately need, they’re going to have to silence the deafening home crowd.
After Amhrán na bhFiann was played, it was the turn of the home crowd to belt out their rendition of Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau and they didn’t disappoint.
Electric.
Which fans will end up singing at the end of the night though?
Amazing what can happen when you don't pipe in music or drown out a crowd pic.twitter.com/VlbgOQc0iX
