Let us hope and pray that he pulls through.
Muhammad Ali, possibly the finest boxer of all-time and definitely one of the greatest icons we have ever known, is fighting for his life at a Phoenix hospital. The legendary boxer has been placed on life support and his family have rushed to be by his side.
Such is the worrying condition of the 74-year-old, who was taken to hospital with breathing problems on Tuesday, that four of his nine children, including daughters Laila, Hana and Maryum, have flown in to be at his bedside.
Ali’s condition has worsened drastically. On Thursday, the hospital briefed the media that the former boxer was being treated by doctors “as a precaution”, and that he was in a “fair condition”. Since then his health has deteriorated to such an extent that life support is now required.
The Mirror report the following from medical sources:
“Doctors are working to regulate his breathing but it is being hampered by his Parkinson’s. His children are all extremely concerned and dropped everything to be with him. They fear the worst.
“Ali is everything to them and there are worried his problems are worse than first feared.”
Our thoughts are with Ali and his family, and we sincerely hope he pulls through.
