The reason Kenny Dalglish was on the Kop during Liverpool’s midweek draw with Bournemouth

Not his usual spot

The Kop is typically the loudest part of Anfield on matchdays and the stand which the rowdier supporters tend to frequent.

As such, you seldom see celebrities set up shop in that section of the ground as they typically prefer the calmer, albeit less atmospheric, surroundings of the main stand.

Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish has his own seat in the main stand and that’s where you’ll usually find him on matchdays, which made it all the more curious when King Kenny was spotted on the Kop on Wednesday night.

Hardcore Reds fans were astonished to find that one of the club’s favourite sons was among them for this week’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.

But there was a very good reason for Dalglish’s presence on the Kop as the Liverpool Echo has revealed that the former player and manager is set to star in a film called KENNY, and he was there to be filmed for the production.

KENNY will portray the Liverpool career of a true legend of Anfield, encapsulating his time as a player and his two spells as manager.

It is set for an autumn cinema release with a DVD release expected some time next year.

It certainly sounds like a must-watch for Liverpool supporters.
